My Munchies 2024 Experience!

Posted by TheMusicalManiac - June 18th, 2024

Hello, everyone! OP here! Just wanted to take the time to make a very special announcement - my Sonic OC Callie participated in this years Munchies, hosted by @TheShokBlok! I had a lot of fun and saw she made it super far, but lost to her own ego, sadly. She's in the lobby, recovering and making new friends. She actually wanted to take some time to describe some of her experiences in the Munchies and the people she met! Without further ado...Callie...you may take the stage. Thanks again to @TheShokBlok for all the amazing art <3

Hello, hello~! I'm Callie! I had a lot of fun at this years Munchies. I knew right away it was going to be like the Hunger Games, so I knew the risks I had taken up when signing all those paperwork forms. Yada yada, company bullshit. I was a bit nervous at first, but little did I know how lucky I was.

The first thing I did was grab a rope and some lighter from the Cornucopia, an area that provides weapon and gear for all the participants. I wasn't allowed to have my Wispon with me, so this had to make do, in the case I had to defend myself. Rushing away, I spent the rest of the day on close watch. That is, until the first night.

I met up with three others: Deejay (OC of @Thetageist), pair May and Mumble (@BlueKnightSkeleton), and @PachkaNG. They seemed to be pretty lost, so we stuck together and found a cave to sleep in. We took turns on watch to make sure no one attacked us. The first night went, I can say, without a hitch. Then, the next day I spent...

Picking apples! Yeah, I'm more of a pacifist and I don't like to fight unless absolutely necessary. I found that there was so much fresh fruit trees here. Of course, I had to check to make sure they weren't poison apples, of course~ It was all very delicious, and was happy to share, but no one came around, unfortunately.

I spent the rest of the night cooking my food. Apples can be boring plain, so I roasted them over a fire. They're quite yummy, you know! For the most part, this seemed to be going pretty well. But I had to keep on guard. Then...it was the day of the Feast - held at the Cornucopia. I wasn't interested in the food, considering this treasure basket of apples I had, so what did I do?

I stole memoirs from @Mork0's possession to study up on their fighting techniques. They were at the top of the leaderboard at the time, or at the very least in the top five, and I had to keep tabs in case I was attacked. That very day came the next day...Cybersquid (@Dolorious) had planned an ambush on me. In a quick act, I combined my only pill of cyanide with seltzer water and attempted to poison him. Little did I know...

Next thing you know, I'm dead on the ground, and not likely to come back. It seems I died...but then I end up in a big white room with a bunch of other contestants, and wake up to Reggie (@Spaggo) checking in on me. Turns out, I've been taken to The Lobby, a place where all the losers come and hang out watching the survivors on this 40" screen HD TV. Not much has happened so far, but I'll keep tabs and updates on the cool things that happen in the interim, and my comments to the winners! Thank you @TheShokBlok for hosting me in this years games! I'm glad I got out easy. Phew....can I go back on bedrest now? I could use a nap...and some more water and painkillers.

I had the worst experience, i died so fast for @Mork0's Explosives |:(

I heard..! I'm sorry that happened. I heard that blam from miles away...at least it was quick.

Shame your plan failed. I was really rooting for you! Glad you got to have some fun while you were there, though! (Now I really want baked apples...)

How's the lobby? I didn't hang out for very long in there - needed some time to myself.

The lobby's great! I got to meet some new people and check in on everyone! For some reason, @pointlessfield's robots had been looking over me the whole match, and inquired about my abilities. They had made a robo-copy of myself because they were interested in the enemy I had fought years before: Eggman, and we formed a partnership of sorts. Don't worry, the robot's super cool and very nice! Say hello, Metal Callie! *Bzzzrrrttt Krrrtt whrrrrrrrr*

Update 1: A peculiar figure, @pointlessfield, and their robot, RC1, approached me in the lobby and admitted to having looked over me the entire games. I was a bit freaked out at first, reasonably, but they told me they had done so to protect their friend Kai, and also in study of my abilities, as we both share similar enemies (Eggman, as you know, is quite the nuisance - and they told me of their own). They had scanned my skills to make a robot akin to Metal Sonic that looked just like me, and told me I was free to choose what it could do. Well, I don't really like violence, so I have a new robot friend now. It's kinda nice....blegh. I still feel sick from the poison lol. But hey, I'm safe in the lobby now.

Update 2 and 3: Sorry I abandoned this thread. There was no signal for several days, and the air was fucking tense. I had to summon Kaalian, reluctantly, because I was afraid the squid motherfucker was gonna burn the place down. Then it all went quiet...and only an hour ago was Tulip declared the winner. Everyone collectively breathes a sigh of relief, and finally, we get to go home. I'm going to need a long ass chili dog break after this...Callie out.
Let's hope next years Munchies are less tense...but considering the games are just as potent as a politics talk at Thanksgiving Dinner, I can only hope. See ya~!
